Notice to All Who Read my LJ	[Jan. 1st, 2015\|02:42 pm]
This is MY livejournal. I often rant and rave about things that 90% of the time the reader will have no idea what it's about. So please don't misunderstand what I have to say as a direct address to you. Most of the time I speak in generalities. This allows me to be vague enough about a topic and not name any names. If I rant about something and you feel it hits close to home, then feel free to comment or retort. However, I do ask that you still keep in mind that I am not referring to you directly. Don't make me feel like I have to smooth things over with you or make nice. Because I won't do it. As long as we all understand that, then I think we will be cool. PLAY NICE!

GAMERS?!?	[Nov. 4th, 2008\|01:34 pm]
Those on my list that consider themselves to be gamers, technophiles, geeks, nerds, etc. I want your opinions. I have been hearing a lot about STEAM lately. It is the gaming site from Valve. It appears that you can log in and play games on there for a fee. I am curious if I still need to install any software that will take up more critical resources from my Compy or if you just log in to their software. Also, is it bad for my computer like bearshare or limewire? How would I be protected? In short, what are your thoughts on it?

My Mecca!

I have been to the gates of heaven and saw that it was good.

Well, ok, maybe not heaven....but yesterday, I went to my first Bears game at Soldier Field!!! Let me explain that I have been a fan since I was 8. Growing up in Detroit and being a Bears fan was not as fun as one might think. I watched them play at The Silverdome (one of the ugliest, stale pieces of architectual crap ever). I watched them play at Detroit's Ford Field. But it was always my dream to see them play at Soldier Field. So when I moved to Chicago, I was afraid to actually pursue that dream. What if it rains? What if the seats are terrible? Worse, what if they lost?! Would that be a sign that I should never return?! I wanted my first time to be special. Memorable. I didn't want it to end up painful and sticky. I wanted things to be just right.

Judging by my rating you can tell that it was! Papa Bear and the rest smiled upon me and gave me possibly the BEST weather EVER for a game. We took a chance and got tickets before going in. Expecting to pay $100 a piece we found a guy that gave them to me for face ($70). And the seats were AWESOME! Not too much in the middle to feel like TV. Not too much in the end to see nothing. But right in the corner so that I could see all the plays open up. Mind you, I looked around and didn't really see many spots that would have been too bad though. Maybe the top if the wind came off the lake in the December months.

The people were all in great moods. Even when it lookes like they may give the game away, people all around me were having a ball. And NOT drunk! (Back in Detroit, I got popcorn thrown at me if the Lions were losing) I threw on my Ditka moustache and glasses from Halloween and they turned the game around. People in our area credited me for the momentum....you're welcome.

Some people make pilgrimages to Mecca. Others to Strawberry Fields. Still more to the Wailing Wall. Me, I moved to Chicago and went to Soldier Field. I saw the history. I saw the future. I saw the world around me as it should be....
A warm fall Sunday in November watching the Bears at Soldier Field.
